Auchinoon Energy Park is currently at the scoping stage

Because the combined generation capacity of Auchinoon Energy Park is expected to exceed 50 megawatts, the project will be determined by the Scottish Ministers under Section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989, rather than by West Lothian Council directly. Eurowind Energy Limited has submitted an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Scoping Report to the Scottish Government's Energy Consents Unit (ECU), requesting a formal Scoping Opinion on the environmental topics to be assessed ahead of a future application for consent.

The Scoping Report can be viewed in the project documents section below.

Public Consultation

Eurowind Energy is committed to meaningful engagement with the local community throughout the development of Auchinoon Energy Park. We will be contacting local community councils to introduce the project and to offer the opportunity to meet and discuss the proposals.

The first round of public exhibitions is planned for September 2026, giving local residents the opportunity to learn about the proposed development directly from the project team and to share feedback that will help shape the design as it develops. A second round of exhibitions, planned for early Spring 2027, will provide an update on the project, explain how feedback has influenced the design, and share further information on community benefits and next steps.
